Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)

यदृच्छया55गतं त॑ तु वृक्षमूलमुपाश्रितम्‌ । पत्नीभ्यां सहितो राजा सर्वरत्नैरतोषयत्‌,एक दिन उन्होंने सुना कि गौतमगोत्रीय महात्मा काक्षीवानके पुत्र परम उदार चण्डकौशिक मुनि तपस्यासे उपरत होकर अकस्मात्‌ इधर आ गये हैं और एक वृक्षके नीचे बैठे हैं। यह समाचार पाकर राजा बृहद्रथ अपनी दोनों पत्नियों (एवं पुरवासियों)-के साथ उनके पास गये तथा सब प्रकारके रत्नों (मुनिजनोचित उत्कृष्ट वस्तुओं)-की भेंट देकर उन्हें संतुष्ट किया

yadṛcchayā gataṃ taṃ tu vṛkṣamūlam upāśritam | patnībhyāṃ sahito rājā sarvaratnair atoṣayat ||

Sang resi itu tiba di sana secara kebetulan lalu berteduh di pangkal sebatang pokok. Raja, bersama dua permaisurinya, pergi menemuinya dan menyenangkan hatinya dengan segala jenis hadiah berharga.
