Description of Kubera’s Assembly Hall
मणिभद्रो5थ धनद: श्वेतभद्रश्न गुह्दक: । कशेरको गण्डकण्डू: प्रद्योतश्न महाबल:,किन्नर तथा नर नामवाले गन्धर्व, मणिभद्र, धनद, श्वेतभद्र, गुह्मक, कशेरक, गण्डकण्डू, महाबली प्रद्योत, कुस्तुम्बुरु पिशाच, गजकर्ण, विशालक, वराहकर्ण, ताग्रोष्ठ, फलकक्ष, फलोदक, हंसचूड, शिखावर्त, हेमनेत्र, विभीषण, पुष्पानन, पिंगलक, शोणितोद, प्रवालक, वृक्षवासी, अनिकेत तथा चीरवासा, भारत! ये तथा दूसरे बहुत-से यक्ष लाखोंकी संख्यामें उपस्थित होकर उस सभामें कुबेरकी सेवा करते हैं
maṇibhadro ’tha dhanadaḥ śvetabhadraś ca guhyakaḥ | kaśerako gaṇḍakaṇḍūḥ pradyotaś ca mahābalaḥ ||
Narada said: “Maṇibhadra, and Dhanada (Kubera), Śvetabhadra, and the Guhyaka; Kaśeraka, Gaṇḍakaṇḍū, and Pradyota of great strength—these and many other Yakṣas, in vast multitudes, assemble in that splendid hall to attend upon Kubera.” In context, the passage underscores the ordered service and hierarchy of Kubera’s court, where power is framed as disciplined attendance and rightful station rather than mere force.
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights that even powerful beings are defined by their rightful roles and disciplined service within a cosmic and royal order; authority is shown through orderly attendance and duty rather than unchecked might.
