अतिक्रमेच्च माहात्म्याद् दिष्टमप्यर्थपर्ययम् । अतिक्रान्ते च लोकानामभावो नियतं भवेत्,“ये अपनी महिमासे दैवके भी निश्चित विधानको पलट सकते हैं; यदि ऐसा हुआ तो सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका अवश्य ही अन्त हो जायगा
atikramec ca mahātmyād diṣṭam apy artha-paryayam | atikrānte ca lokānām abhāvo niyataṁ bhavet ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Dengan kebesaran semata-mata, seseorang bahkan boleh membalikkan apa yang telah ditetapkan takdir, mengubah arah perjalanan peristiwa yang telah diatur. Namun jika pelanggaran terhadap tertib kosmik itu berlaku, akibat yang tidak dapat dielakkan ialah lenyapnya dunia-dunia.”

Even if extraordinary power could overturn destiny, violating the ordained cosmic order (dharma/niyati) is portrayed as destabilizing reality itself; ethical restraint is implied because unchecked overriding of fate leads to universal ruin.
