कर्णस्य सेनापत्यं, माकरव्यूहः, पाण्डवानामर्धचन्द्रव्यूहः

धृतराष्ट उवाच आखेयाता जीवमाना ये5परे सैन्या यथायथम् | इतीदमवगच्छामि व्यक्तमर्थाभिपत्तित:
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca: ākhyātā jīvamānā ye 'pare sainyā yathā-yatham | itīdam avagacchāmi vyaktam arthābhipattitaḥ ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra berkata: “Sañjaya, engkau telah melaporkan dengan tepat, sebagaimana hakikatnya, siapa dalam bala tentera kita yang masih hidup dan siapa yang telah gugur. Daripada itu, melalui penalaran atas implikasi yang tidak dapat dielakkan daripada kata-katamu, aku memahami dengan jelas akibatnya—kekalahan pihakku adalah pasti.”
