कर्णेन सैन्यस्थापनं तथा नानायुद्धसमवायः

Karna Reforms the Host and Multiple Duels Converge

अ्र-क्ा पज्चचत्वारिशो< ध्याय: कर्णका मद्र आदि बाहीक-निवासियोंके दोष बताना, शल्यका उत्तर देना और दुर्योधनका दोनोंको शान्त करना कर्ण उवाच हन्त शल्य विजानीहि हन्त भूयो ब्रवीमि ते । उच्यमानं मया सम्यक्‌ त्वमेकाग्रमना: शृणु,कर्ण बोला--शल्य! पहले जो बातें बतायी गयी हैं, उन्हें समझो। अब मैं पुनः तुमसे कुछ कहता हूँ। मेरी कही हुई इस बातको तुम एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुनो--

hanta śalya vijānīhi hanta bhūyo bravīmi te | ucyamānaṃ mayā samyak tvam ekāgramanāḥ śṛṇu ||

Karna berkata: “Marilah, Śalya—fahamilah apa yang telah dinyatakan. Dan kini, sekali lagi aku akan berbicara kepadamu. Dengarlah dengan hati yang tertumpu satu arah akan kata-kataku, yang kuucapkan dengan jelas dan sempurna.”
