श्वरः शिर: श्रोष्यसे तस्य सैन्धवस्य रणे हृतम् । समन्तपज्चकाद् बाहूं विशोका भव मा रुद:,तुम कल ही सुनोगी कि रणक्षेत्रमें जयद्रथका मस्तक काट लिया गया है और वह समन्तपंचक क्षेत्रसे बाहर जा गिरा है। अत: शोक त्याग दो और रोना बंद करो
śvaḥ śiraḥ śroṣyase tasya saindhavasya raṇe hṛtam | samantapañcakād bāhūṃ viśokā bhava mā rudaḥ ||
“Esok engkau akan mendengar bahawa kepala putera Sindhu (Jayadratha) telah dipancung di medan perang dan jatuh melampaui padang Samantapañcaka. Maka, buanglah dukacita; jangan menangis.”
