Shloka 8

न चैनं संयुगे कश्चित्‌ समर्थ: प्रतिवीक्षितुम्‌ । न चैनमर्जुनो जातु प्रतियुध्येत धर्मवित्‌,“रणभूमिमें दूसरा कोई योद्धा उनकी ओर देखनेमें भी समर्थ नहीं है (युद्ध करना तो दूरकी बात है) और धर्मके ज्ञाता अर्जुन कदापि उनके साथ (मन लगाकर) युद्ध नहीं करेंगे!

na cainaṃ saṃyuge kaścit samarthaḥ prativīkṣitum | na cainam arjuno jātu pratiyudhyeta dharmavit ||

Sañjaya berkata: “Dalam himpitan pertempuran, tiada seorang pun pahlawan mampu pun menatapnya dengan pandangan yang teguh—apatah lagi bertarung. Dan Arjuna, walaupun mengetahui dharma, tidak akan benar-benar turun beradu dengannya.”
