Chapter 161
संजय उवाच ततस्ते पाण्डवा राजन् पज्चालाश्व यशस्विन: । आजम्मु: सहिता: कर्ण तर्जयन्त: समन्ततः,संजय कहते हैं--राजन्! तदनन्तर वे यशस्वी पाण्डव और पांचाल एक साथ होकर गर्जन-तर्जन करते हुए चारों ओरसे कर्णपर चढ़ आये
sañjaya uvāca | tataste pāṇḍavā rājan pāñcālāś ca yaśasvinaḥ | ājagmuḥ sahitāḥ karṇa tarjayantaḥ samantataḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Wahai Raja! Sesudah itu, para Pāṇḍava yang termasyhur dan orang-orang Pāñcāla, bersatu padu, mara ke atas Karṇa dari segenap penjuru sambil mengaum dan melontar cabaran.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethos of confronting danger with unity and resolve. Ethically, it underscores coordinated effort in the face of overwhelming force, suggesting that righteous aims in war are pursued not merely by individual heroism but by disciplined collective action.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍavas and their allies, the Pāñcālas, gather together and surge toward Karṇa, surrounding him from all directions while shouting challenges and battle-cries.
