दुर्योधन–द्रोणसंवादः
Arjuna-vīrya-prasaṃśā and renewed battle formation
ब्रह्मण्य: सत्यवाग दान्तो गुरुदैवतपूजक: । नित्यं धर्मरतश्नैव कृतास्त्रश्न विशेषत:
brahmaṇyaḥ satyavāg dānto gurudaivatapūjakaḥ | nityaṃ dharmarataś caiva kṛtāstraś ca viśeṣataḥ ||
Kṛpa berkata: “Dia berbakti kepada para Brahmana dan kewajipan suci, benar dalam tutur kata, mampu mengawal diri, serta memuliakan guru sebagai dewa. Sentiasa bersuka dalam dharma, dan—terutama sekali—telah sempurna mahir dalam penggunaan senjata.”
कृप उवाच
The verse presents an ideal of character: devotion to sacred duty and learned elders, truthfulness, self-restraint, constant commitment to dharma, and disciplined mastery of one’s craft (here, weaponry). Martial ability is praised, but it is framed as most admirable when grounded in ethical and devotional virtues.
Kṛpa is describing someone’s qualities in the midst of the Drona Parva context, highlighting moral virtues (truth, restraint, reverence for the guru) alongside exceptional martial training, as part of an assessment or commendation relevant to the ongoing war narrative.
