Alāyudha’s Resolve to Confront Bhīma
The verse links success in a righteous but perilous duty to sustained inner focus (anudhyāna) and protective moral support: disciplined intention and steadfast resolve can safeguard a warrior’s action even amid overwhelming violence.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna, described as Jiṣṇu, fought through and killed thousands of enemy warriors and ultimately slew Jayadratha, attributing Arjuna’s protection and success to Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s continuous contemplation.
