कि पुनर्धात॑राष्ट्रस्य बलमेतत् सुदुर्बलम् । तात! मैं दशार्हनन्दन भगवान् श्रीकृष्णके लिये शोक नहीं करता। वे तो सम्पूर्ण जगत्के संरक्षक और स्वामी हैं। युद्धस्थलमें तीनों लोक संघटित होकर आ जायाँ तो भी वे पुरुषसिंह श्रीकृष्ण उन सबको परास्त कर सकते हैं, यह तुमसे सच्ची बात कहता हूँ। फिर दुर्योधनकी इस अत्यन्त दुर्बल सेनाको जीतना उनके लिये कौन बड़ी बात है?
ki punar dhārtarāṣṭrasya balam etat sudurbalam | tāta! ahaṃ daśārha-nandanaṃ bhagavān śrīkṛṣṇaṃ prati śokaṃ na karomi | sa hi samasta-jagataḥ saṃrakṣakaḥ svāmī ca | yuddha-sthale trayo lokāḥ saṅghaṭitāḥ samāyāntu cet, api sa puruṣa-siṃhaḥ śrīkṛṣṇaḥ sarvān tān parājetuṃ śaknoti—etad ahaṃ te satyaṃ bravīmi | tataḥ duryodhanasya asyā atyanta-durbalāyāḥ senāyāḥ jayo 'sya kasya mahattaraṃ karma?
Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Kalau begitu, apakah ertinya kekuatan pihak Dhṛtarāṣṭra—yang selemah itu? Wahai anakku, aku tidak bersedih untuk Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, kegembiraan kaum Daśārha. Dialah pelindung dan tuan bagi seluruh jagat. Sekalipun tiga alam bersatu lalu menyerbu ke medan perang, Śrī Kṛṣṇa—singa di antara manusia—mampu menewaskan mereka semua; ini kukatakan kepadamu dengan sebenar-benarnya. Maka, apakah besar ertinya bagi-Nya menundukkan bala tentera Duryodhana yang amat lemah itu?”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
Yudhiṣṭhira frames courage and clarity as grounded in right understanding: when one recognizes Kṛṣṇa as the protector and sovereign of the world, fear and grief give way to steadiness. The verse also critiques inflated confidence in mere numbers or worldly power, asserting that dharmic assurance rests on the higher order embodied by the divine.
In the Drona Parva’s intense war setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a confidant and dismisses anxiety about Kṛṣṇa’s safety. He declares that even a coalition of the three worlds could not overcome Kṛṣṇa, and therefore defeating Duryodhana’s comparatively weak forces is no extraordinary challenge for him.
