sañjaya uvāca | pariṇāmya niśāṃ tāṃ tu sukhaṃ prāptā janeśvarāḥ | kuravaḥ pāṇḍavāś caiva punar yuddhāya niryayuḥ ||

Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Raja, setelah melalui malam itu dan menikmati keselesaan rehat, para Kuru dan Pāṇḍava yang mulia sekali lagi keluar berarak menuju medan perang. Jeda tidur tidak menamatkan beban moral perang; ia hanya memperbaharui tekad kedua-dua pihak untuk kembali ke gelanggang, terikat oleh kewajipan, perseteruan, dan akibat pilihan mereka sendiri.
