विन्दानुविन्दावावन्त्यौ कुन्तिभोजं महारथम् । ससेन॑ ससुतं वीर॑ संससज्जतुराहवे,अवन्तिदेशके राजकुमार विन्द और अनुविन्दने सेना और पुत्रसहित वीर महारथी कुन्तिभोजके साथ युद्ध आरम्भ किया
vindānuvindāv āvantyau kuntibhojaṃ mahāratham | sasenaṃ sasutaṃ vīraṃ saṃsasajjatur āhave ||
Sañjaya berkata: Vindā dan Anuvindā, putera-putera Avanti, bertempur menentang Kuntibhoja, pahlawan maharatha yang gagah—yang hadir bersama bala tenteranya dan puteranya.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya world of duty and consequence: renowned warriors, backed by troops and heirs, enter combat as political loyalties harden into armed conflict, showing how dharma in war often involves steadfastness amid morally complex alliances.
Sañjaya reports that Vindā and Anuvindā of Avanti begin fighting against the great warrior Kuntibhoja, who is not alone but supported by his army and his son, indicating an active clash of notable combatants on the battlefield.
