कर्मयोग–ज्ञानयज्ञ–अवतारोपदेश

Karma-Yoga, Jñāna-Yajña, and Avatāra Instruction

त्रैगुण्यविषया वेदा निस्त्रैगुण्यो भवार्जुन । निर्दन्दो नित्यसत्त्वस्थो निर्योगक्षेम आत्मवान्‌,हे अर्जुन! वेद उपर्युक्त प्रकारसे तीनों गुणोंके कार्यरूप समस्त भोगों एवं उनके साधनोंका प्रतिपादन करनेवाले हैं; इसलिये तू उन भोगों एवं उनके साधनोंमें आसक्तिहीन, हर्ष-शोकादि द्वद्धोंसे रहित, नित्यवस्तु परमात्मामें स्थित, योगक्षेमको न चाहनेवाला* और स्वाधीन अन्त:करणवाला हो

traiguṇya-viṣayā vedā nistraiguṇyo bhavārjuna | nirdvandvo nitya-sattva-stho niryoga-kṣema ātmavān ||

Sañjaya berkata: “Veda-veda kebanyakannya bergerak dalam lingkungan tiga guṇa. Maka, wahai Arjuna, bangkitlah melampaui tiga guṇa—bebas daripada pasangan pertentangan seperti suka dan duka; teguhlah dalam kemurnian dan kebenaran yang kekal; jangan resah tentang memperoleh dan memelihara; dan kuasailah diri.”
