भीष्मसेनासंनिवेशः — Bhīṣma’s Mobilization, Omens, and the Kaurava Array
नाभागो5थ ययातिकश्च मान्धाता नहुषो नृगः । संसिद्धा: परमं स्थान गता: कर्मभिरीदृशै:,“नाभाग, ययाति, मान्धाता, नहुष और नृग ऐसे ही कर्मोद्वारा सिद्धिको प्राप्त होकर उत्कृष्ट लोकोंमें गये हैं
nābhāgo ’tha yayātiś ca māndhātā nahuṣo nṛgaḥ | saṃsiddhāḥ paramaṃ sthānaṃ gatāḥ karmabhir īdṛśaiḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Demikian juga Nābhāga, Yayāti, Māndhātā, Nahuṣa, dan Nṛga—melalui perbuatan yang seumpama ini—mencapai kesempurnaan dan pergi ke kedudukan tertinggi. Tradisi mengingati mereka sebagai raja-raja yang sampai ke alam yang luhur melalui tindakan yang benar, menunjukkan bahawa akhlak dan dharma-kewajipan, bukan semata-mata keturunan atau kuasa, membawa kepada pencapaian tertinggi.”
संजय उवाच
That supreme attainment is reached through righteous action (karma aligned with dharma). The verse cites exemplary kings to affirm that ethical deeds and dutiful conduct can lead to the highest spiritual or heavenly state.
Sañjaya, narrating to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, reinforces a point by listing famous ancient kings who, through similar meritorious deeds, achieved perfection and attained the highest abode—using precedent to validate the moral claim being made in the surrounding discourse.
