गजाश्चममितं हत्वा हता: सप्त महारथा: । हत्वा पजच सहस्राणि रथानां प्रपितामह:

gajāś ca amitaṁ hatvā hatāḥ sapta mahārathāḥ |
hatvā pañca sahasrāṇi rathānāṁ prapitāmahaḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: Setelah membunuh gajah-gajah yang tidak terhitung banyaknya, Sang Datuk Agung (Bhīṣma) turut menjatuhkan tujuh pahlawan kereta perang yang besar. Dan setelah memusnahkan lima ribu kereta, Prapitāmaha meneruskan perbuatannya yang menggerunkan di medan laga.
संजय उवाच
