Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)

एवमुकक्‍त्वा तु वाष्णेयं पृथा पृुथुललोचना । उच्छित्य बाहू दु:खार्ता ताश्चान्या: प्रापतन्‌ भुवि,श्रीकृष्णसे ऐसा कहकर विशाललोचना कुन्ती दोनों बाँहें ऊपर उठाकर दुःखसे आर्त हो पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ी। दूसरी स्त्रियोंकी भी यही दशा हुई

evaṁ uktvā tu vārṣṇeyaṁ pṛthā pṛthulalocanā | ucchitya bāhū duḥkhārtā tāś cānyāḥ prāpatann bhuvi ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Setelah berkata demikian kepada Vārṣṇeya (Śrī Kṛṣṇa), Pṛthā (Kuntī), wanita bermata lebar itu, mengangkat kedua-dua tangannya; ditimpa dukacita, dia rebah ke bumi. Para wanita yang lain juga jatuh demikian. Adegan itu menegaskan bahawa bahkan para tua yang paling teguh pun dapat ditundukkan oleh kesedihan, dan ratapan bersama menjadi saksi etika akan harga kekerasan dan perpisahan.
