Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā

Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

यद्‌ यस्माज्जायते भूतं तत्र तत्‌ प्रविलीयते । लीयन्ते प्रतिलोमानि जायन्ते चोत्तरोत्तरम्‌,जो भूत जिससे उत्पन्न होता है, उसका उसीमें लय हो जाता है। ये भूत अनुलोमक्रमसे एकके बाद एक प्रकट होते हैं और विलोमक्रमसे इनका अपने-अपने कारणमें लय होता है

yad yasmāj jāyate bhūtaṃ tatra tat pravilīyate | līyante pratilomāni jāyante cottarottaram ||

Vāyu-deva bersabda: “Apa jua makhluk yang lahir daripada sesuatu punca, akhirnya akan luluh kembali ke dalam punca itu juga. Unsur-unsur menjelma berturut-turut menurut tertib penciptaan; dan menurut tertib terbalik, ia kembali menyatu—masing-masing ke dalam sebabnya sendiri.”
