तमोगुण-निरूपण

अन्यथा प्रतिपन्नास्तु विवृद्धा ये च कर्मण: । स्वकर्मनिरतानां च ब्राह्मणानां शुभैषिणाम्‌

anyathā pratipannās tu vivṛddhā ye ca karmaṇaḥ | svakarmaniratānāṃ ca brāhmaṇānāṃ śubhaiṣiṇām ||

Vāyu berkata: “Makhluk yang menempuh haluan yang menyimpang—yang terjerat mendalam dalam perbuatan—apabila hasil perbuatan dosa mereka telah habis dinikmati dan kebangkitan jasa kebajikan yang dahulu mula berbuah, maka dengan kekuatan kesan-kesan daripada amal yang baik (saṃskāra), mereka mencapai keadaan para Brahmin yang teguh pada dharma tugasnya dan menghendaki kebaikan. Ertinya, mereka lahir dalam keluarga sedemikian; di sana mereka berusaha lagi, naik ke atas, dan pergi ke syurga para dewa—demikianlah yang dinyatakan oleh wahyu Veda.”
