मासमेकं विजहुस्ते ससैन्यान्तःपुरा वने । अथ तत्रागमद्‌ व्यासो यथोक्त ते मयानघ,वे सेनाओं तथा अन्तःपुरकी स्त्रियोंक साथ वहाँ एक मासतक वनमें विहार करते रहे। अनघ! इसी बीचमें जैसा कि मैंने तुम्हें बताया है, वहाँ व्यासजीका आगमन हुआ

māsam ekaṁ vijahus te sa-sainyāntaḥpurā vane | atha tatrāgamad vyāso yathoktaḥ te mayānagha ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Selama genap sebulan mereka tinggal di rimba, ditemani bala tentera dan para wanita di bahagian dalam istana. Kemudian, wahai yang suci tanpa noda, seperti yang telah kukatakan kepadamu, Vyāsa pun tiba di sana.”
