विदुर: किमवस्थकश्ष भ्रातु: शुश्रूषुरात्मवान्‌ | स च गावल्गणिथर्थीमान्‌ भर्तृपिण्डानुपालक:,“अपने भाईकी सेवामें लगे रहनेवाले मनस्वी विदुरजी किस अवस्थामें होंगे? अपने स्वामीके शरीरकी रक्षा करनेवाले बुद्धिमान संजय भी कैसे होंगे?”

viduraḥ kim-avasthakaś ca bhrātuḥ śuśrūṣur ātmavān | sa ca gāvalgaṇir arthīmān bhartṛ-piṇḍānupālakaḥ |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Dalam keadaan apakah Vidura—yang teguh dan menguasai diri, sentiasa setia berkhidmat kepada saudaranya? Dan bagaimana pula Sañjaya—yang bijaksana dan bertekad—yang menjaga serta memelihara tubuh tuannya sendiri?”
