Adhyāya 60: Dāna vs. Yajña—Royal Giving, Protection, and Karmic Share

अहिंसाया: फल रूप॑ दीक्षाया जन्म वै कुले । फलमूलाशिनां राज्यं स्वर्ग: पर्णाशिनां भवेत्‌

ahiṃsāyāḥ phala-rūpaṃ dīkṣāyā janma vai kule | phala-mūlāśināṃ rājyaṃ svargaḥ parṇāśināṃ bhavet ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Inisiasi (dīkṣā) yang dijalankan dalam rupa ahimsa (tanpa kekerasan) berbuah sebagai kelahiran dalam keturunan mulia. Bagi mereka yang hidup dengan buah dan akar, ganjarannya ialah kedaulatan; bagi mereka yang menyara diri dengan daun, ganjarannya menjadi syurga.”
