नित्यसंस्कृतमन्नं तु विविधं राजवेश्मनि । शयनानि च मुख्यानि परिषेकाश्व पुष्कला:,प्रतिदिन भाँति-भाँतिका भोजन तैयार करके राजभवनमें मुनिके लिये परोसा जाता, अच्छे-अच्छे पलंग बिछाये जाते तथा स्नानके लिये बहुत-से पात्र रखे जाते थे

nitya-saṃskṛtam annaṃ tu vividhaṃ rāja-veśmani | śayanāni ca mukhyāni pariṣekāś ca puṣkalāḥ ||

Bhishma berkata: “Di istana diraja, pelbagai makanan yang disediakan dengan rapi dihidangkan setiap hari. Katil-katil yang terbaik dibentangkan, dan persiapan untuk mandi serta upacara percikan air juga disediakan dengan melimpah.” Petikan ini menonjolkan kewajipan raja memuliakan tetamu yang layak—terutama pertapa dan resi—melalui layanan yang tetap, tertib, dan penuh hormat.
