Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
निषादाश्च दिवं जग्मुस्ते च मत्स्या जनाधिप । नहुषो5पि वरं लब्ध्वा प्रविवेश स्वकं पुरम्,नरेश्वर! वे मलल्लाह और मत्स्य तो स्वर्गलोकमें चले गये और राजा नहुष भी वर पाकर अपनी राजधानीको लौट आये
niṣādāś ca divaṃ jagmus te ca matsyā janādhipa | nahuṣo 'pi varaṃ labdhvā praviveśa svakaṃ puram, nareśvara ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai tuan rakyat sekalian, kaum Niṣāda dan kaum Matsya telah pergi ke syurga; dan Raja Nahuṣa pula, setelah memperoleh anugerah, kembali memasuki ibu kotanya.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the principle of outcomes aligned with merit and granted favor: some attain heavenly reward, while a king, after receiving a boon, is restored to his rightful place—suggesting that dharma, karma, and legitimate grace together shape destiny and social order.
Bhīṣma reports the results for different groups: the Niṣādas and the Matsyas depart for heaven, and King Nahuṣa, having secured a boon, returns to his own capital—marking the completion of their respective narrative arcs in this episode.
