Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वनें विशज्वामित्रका उपाख्यानविषयक चौथा अध्याय पूरा हुआ,तत्र चामिषलुब्धेन लुब्धकेन महावने । अविदूरे मृगान् दृष्टवा बाण: प्रतिसमाहित: उस महान् वनमें थोड़ी ही दूर जानेपर मांसलोभी व्याधने कुछ मृगोंको देखा और उनपर बाण चला दिया
tatra cāmiṣa-lubdhena lubdhakena mahāvane | avidūre mṛgān dṛṣṭvā bāṇaḥ pratisaṃhitaḥ ||
Di rimba besar itu, si pemburu yang tamak akan daging terlihat beberapa ekor rusa tidak jauh; lalu dia membidik dengan mantap dan melepaskan anak panah ke arah mereka.
