प्रभासे त्वेकरात्रेण अमावास्यां समाहित: । सिध्यते तु महाबाहो यो नरो जायतेडमर:,महाबाहो! जो एकाग्रचित्त होकर अमावास्याको प्रभास-तीर्थका सेवन करता है उसे एक ही रातमें सिद्धि मिल जाती है तथा वह मृत्युके पश्चात् देवता होता है
prabhāse tv ekarātreṇa amāvāsyāṃ samāhitaḥ | sidhyate tu mahābāho yo naro jāyate 'maraḥ ||
Wahai yang berlengan perkasa, seorang lelaki yang dengan minda terkumpul dan fokus, menjalani malam bulan baharu (amāvasyā) di Prabhāsa, mencapai siddhi dalam satu malam sahaja; dan selepas mati dia lahir dalam kalangan yang tidak mati—para dewa.
अजड्रिय उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined mental focus (samāhita-citta) combined with a sacred observance at a tīrtha can yield swift spiritual fruit (siddhi) and auspicious post-mortem destiny—highlighting the ethical value of self-control, faith, and purposeful religious practice.
Within the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on dharma and the fruits of vows and pilgrimages, the speaker describes the extraordinary merit of staying at the Prabhāsa sacred site on the new-moon night: a single night’s concentrated observance is said to grant accomplishment and lead to rebirth among the gods.
