Educational Q&A

Obstructing a public road—creating hazards or blocking passage—is a serious adharma because it harms many people and violates public welfare; such acts are said to lead to hellish consequences.

In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the results of harmful actions; here he condemns those who deliberately block roads with stones, stakes/thorns, or pits.
