Shloka 11

विशेषेण च वक्ष्यामि चातुर्वर्ण्यस्य लिड्ल्‍भत: । पज्चभूतशरीराणां सर्वेषां सदृशात्मनाम्‌

viśeṣeṇa ca vakṣyāmi cāturvarṇyasya lakṣaṇataḥ | pañcabhūtaśarīrāṇāṃ sarveṣāṃ sadṛśātmanām ||

Bhīṣma berkata: “Sekarang aku akan menyatakan secara khusus tanda-tanda penentu bagi tatanan empat varṇa. Tubuh semua orang—walaupun dikelaskan sebagai brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya, vaiśya, dan śūdra—terbina daripada lima unsur agung yang sama, dan Diri (Self) di dalamnya adalah serupa. Namun perbezaan ditetapkan pada tugas duniawi dan kewajipan khusus, agar dengan setia menunaikan dharma masing-masing, semua dapat kembali mencapai kesatuan.”
