Shloka 11

तत्कथं वै नाद्रियेयमी श्वरोडस्मीति पुत्रक । मा ते मन्युर्महाबाहो भवत्वत्र द्विजान्‌ प्रति

tat kathaṃ vai nādriyeyam īśvaro ’smi iti putraka | mā te manyur mahābāho bhavatv atra dvijān prati ||

“Maka bagaimana mungkin aku tidak menghormati para brāhmaṇa, wahai anakku? Wahai yang berlengan perkasa, jangan biarkan amarah timbul terhadap kaum dwija, dengan menyangka: ‘Akulah Tuhan, mampu melakukan segala-galanya.’ Penghormatan kepada brāhmaṇa tidak wajar ditinggalkan hanya kerana kekuatan diri.”

Educational Q&A

Even if one feels powerful or ‘capable like a lord’ (īśvaro ’smi), that is not a license to disregard Brahmins or dharmic authorities; anger toward the dvijas should be restrained, and reverence maintained as a matter of dharma.
