भूगतान् हि विजेतारो वयमित्यब्रुवन् द्विजा: । ततः कर्म समारब्धं ब्राह्मणै:ः कपनाशनम्,तब ब्राह्मणोंने कहा--“हम उन दानवोंको पृथ्वीपर लाकर परास्त करेंगे।” तदनन्तर ब्राह्मणोंने कपविनाशक कर्म आरम्भ किया
bhūgatān hi vijetāro vayam ity abruvan dvijāḥ | tataḥ karma samārabdhaṃ brāhmaṇaiḥ kapanāśanam ||
Bhishma berkata: Sesungguhnya para Brahmana menyatakan, “Kami akan menewaskan mereka setelah mereka dibawa turun ke bumi.” Setelah itu, para Brahmana memulakan upacara yang bertujuan membinasakan Kapa.
