अश्रिभ्यां सह सोमं च पिबाम विगतज्वरा: । फिर तो मदके मुखमें पड़े हुए देवताओंने आपसमें सलाह करके इन्द्रसे कहा --'देवराज! आप विप्रवर च्यवनको प्रणाम कीजिये (इनसे विरोध करना अच्छा नहीं है)। हमलोग निश्रिन्त होकर अश्विनीकुमारोंके साथ सोमपान करेंगे”
aśribhyāṁ saha somaṁ ca pibāma vigatajvarāḥ |
Cyavana berkata: “Marilah kita minum Soma bersama para Aśvin, bebas daripada segala demam dan derita.” Dalam kisah sekelilingnya, para dewa—gentar akan akibat menentang resi itu—bermusyawarah lalu berkata kepada Indra: “Wahai Raja para dewa! Tunduklah memberi hormat kepada brahmana utama, Cyavana (tidak baik bermusuh dengannya). Dengan itu barulah kami dapat minum Soma dengan aman bersama kembar Aśvin.”
