Shloka 27

मर्द नामाहुतिमयं व्यादितास्यं महामुनि: । तस्य दन्‍तसहस््रं तु बभूव शतयोजनम्‌

marda nāmāhutimayaṃ vyāditāsyaṃ mahāmuniḥ | tasya dantahasraṃ tu babhūva śatayojanam ||

Cyavana berkata: “Resi agung itu, melalui obla­si yang dicurahkan ke dalam api—terbentuk daripada persembahan itu sendiri—melahirkan suatu makhluk bernama Marda, berdiri dengan mulut ternganga luas. Di dalam mulutnya ada seribu batang gigi, setiap satu setinggi seratus yojana.”
