Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical idea that tapas (disciplined spiritual power) safeguards dharma: a sage’s tejas can neutralize destructive forces, enabling rightful powers (the devas) to act effectively and restore cosmic order.

Atri’s radiance burns the mighty asuras; witnessing them scorched and being protected by Atri, the devas regain strength and courage, then strike down the daityas. Atri is praised for empowering the Sun and rescuing the gods.
