Shloka 3

ते पूज्यास्ते नमस्कार्या वर्तेथास्तेषु पुत्रवत्‌ । ते हि लोकानिमान्‌ सर्वान्‌ धारयन्ति मनीषिण:,अत: ब्राह्मणोंकी पूजा करे। ब्राह्मणोंको नमस्कार करे। उनके प्रति वैसा ही बर्ताव करे, जैसा सुयोग्य पुत्र अपने पिताके प्रति करता है; क्योंकि मनीषी ब्राह्मण इन सब लोकोंको धारण करते हैं

te pūjyās te namaskāryā varte thās teṣu putravat | te hi lokān imān sarvān dhārayanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||

Bhishma berkata: “Mereka itulah yang patut dihormati; merekalah yang patut diberi salam sembah. Berlakulah terhadap mereka seperti seorang anak yang berbudi berkelakuan terhadap ayahnya. Kerana Brahmana yang bijaksana itulah yang menegakkan dan memelihara semua alam ini.”
