Shloka 4

भीष्म उवाच व्यासप्रोक्तमिमं मन्त्र शुणुष्वैकमना नृप । सावितन्र्या विहित॑ दिव्यं सद्य: पापविमोचनम्‌,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन्‌! महर्षि वेदव्यासका बताया हुआ यह एक मन्त्र है, उसे एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुनो। सावित्री देवीने इस दिव्यमन्त्रकी सृष्टि की है तथा यह तत्काल ही पापसे छुटकारा दिलानेवाला है

bhīṣma uvāca

vyāsaproktaṃ imaṃ mantraṃ śṛṇuṣva ekamanā nṛpa | sāvitryā vihitaṃ divyaṃ sadyaḥ pāpavimocanam ||

Bhishma berkata: “Wahai Raja, dengarlah dengan tumpuan sebulat hati akan mantra ini yang diajarkan oleh Vyasa. Inilah rumusan suci yang bersifat ilahi, ditetapkan oleh Dewi Savitri, dan ia memberikan pembebasan segera daripada dosa.”
