अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः

Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan

दन्तकाष्ठ॑ तु यः खादेदमावास्यामबुद्धिमान्‌ | हिंसितश्रन्द्रमास्तेन पितरश्रोद्धिजन्ति च,जो बुद्धिहीन मानव अमावास्या तिथिको दन्तधावन काष्ठ चबाता है, उसके द्वारा चन्द्रमाकी हिंसा होती है और पितर भी उससे उद्िग्न हो उठते हैं

dantakāṣṭhaṁ tu yaḥ khāded amāvāsyām abuddhimān | hiṁsitaś candramās tena pitaraś codvijanti ca ||

Bhīṣma berkata: Orang bodoh yang menggunakan kayu pencuci gigi (dantakāṣṭha) pada hari Amāvāsyā (bulan baharu) melakukan suatu kesalahan yang dikatakan mencederakan Bulan; dan para Pitṛ (roh nenek moyang) juga menjadi terganggu oleh perbuatan demikian.
