अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः
Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan
स्थितो हााभिमुखो मर्त्य: पौर्णमास्यां बलिं हरेत् । अग्निकार्य कृतं तेन हुताश्चास्याग्नयस्त्रय:,अग्निदेवने कहा--जो मनुष्य पूर्णिमा तिथिको चन्द्रोदयके समय चन्द्रमाकी ओर मुँह करके उन्हें जलकी भरी हुई एक अंजलि घी और अक्षतके साथ भेंट करता है, उसने अनिनिहोत्रका कार्य सम्पन्न कर लिया। उसके द्वारा गार्हपत्य आदि तीनों अग्नियोंको भलीभाँति आहुति दे दी गयी
sthito hābhimukho martyaḥ paurṇamāsyāṃ baliṃ haret | agnikāryaṃ kṛtaṃ tena hutāś cāsyāgnayas trayaḥ ||
Bhīṣma berkata: Jika pada malam purnama seseorang berdiri menghadap Bulan purnama lalu mempersembahkan suatu bali—yakni persembahan/oblation—maka dengan perbuatan itu dia dianggap telah melaksanakan kewajipan upacara api sebagaimana mestinya; bahkan tiga api sucinya juga dianggap telah diberi persembahan dengan sempurna.
