Kīṭopākhyāna: Prajā-pālana as Kṣatra-vrata and the Attainment of Brāhmaṇya

न भयं विद्यते जातु नरस्येह दयावत: । दयावतामिमे लोका: परे चापि तपस्विनाम्‌

na bhayaṁ vidyate jātu narasyeha dayāvataḥ | dayāvatām ime lokāḥ pare cāpi tapasvinām ||

Bhīṣma mengajarkan: “Di dunia ini, orang yang berbelas kasihan tidak perlu berhadapan dengan ketakutan. Bagi mereka yang berbelas kasihan—dan bagi para pertapa yang menekuni tapa—baik kehidupan ini mahupun kehidupan di alam sana menjadi sejahtera dan aman.”
