उपदेशदोषप्रसङ्गः (Upadeśa-doṣa-prasaṅgaḥ) — The Risk of Misapplied Counsel

एतत्‌ ते सर्वमाख्यातमुपदेशकृते मया । महान्‌ क्लेशो हि भवति तस्मान्नोपदिशेदिह,उपदेशके सम्बन्धमें मैंने ये सब बातें तुम्हें बतायी हैं। अनधिकारीको उपदेश देनेसे महान क्लेश प्राप्त होता है। इसलिये यहाँ किसीको उपदेश न दे

etad te sarvam ākhyātam upadeśa-kṛte mayā | mahān kleśo hi bhavati tasmān nopadiśed iha ||

Bhīṣma berkata: “Segala hal ini telah kujelaskan kepadamu sepenuhnya demi tujuan pengajaran. Sesungguhnya penderitaan besar timbul apabila memberi ajaran kepada yang tidak layak; maka janganlah di sini memberi nasihat secara sewenang-wenangnya.”
