The verse highlights how extraordinary power and destiny can arise from divine causes, yet such gifts carry ethical and social consequences. Martial excellence is portrayed as a boon, but it foreshadows the heavy dharmic responsibilities and conflicts that such prowess can bring.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Sun-god (Sūrya) implants a pregnancy in Kuntī, and she gives birth to a son described as the greatest among weapon-bearing warriors—an allusion to Karṇa’s miraculous birth and future renown.
