Garuḍa–Śakra Saṃvāda and the Retrieval of Amṛta (गरुड–शक्र संवादः अमृत-अपहरण-प्रसङ्गः)
तेजोवीर्यबलोपेतं मनोमारुतरंहसम् । शैलशड्डप्रतीकाशं ब्रह्मदण्डमिवोद्यतम्
tejovīryabalopetaṃ manomārutaraṃhasam | śailaśṛṅgapratīkāśaṃ brahmadaṇḍam ivodyatam ||
Dia dikurniai cahaya, keberanian dan kekuatan; sepantas fikiran dan angin; tegak laksana puncak gunung; dan bagaikan tongkat Brahma (brahma-daṇḍa) yang terangkat tinggi—demikianlah dia melihat ayahandanya Kaśyapa dalam tapas, dan sang ayah juga melihat puteranya: raja burung berwajah ilahi, lambang kuasa benar yang sukar ditandingi.
रौहिण उवाच
The verse frames true might as awe-inspiring yet dharmically sanctioned: the imagery of the raised brahma-staff suggests power that carries moral authority and restraint, not mere violence.
The king of birds (implicitly Garuḍa) comes before his father Kaśyapa, who is engaged in austerities. They see each other, and the verse describes the son’s divine, mountain-like, wind-swift, irresistible appearance.
