Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

मा द्राक्षीस्त्वं कुलस्यास्य घोरं संक्षयमात्मन: । तथेति समनुज्ञाय सा प्रविश्याब्रवीत्‌ स्नुषाम्‌

mā drākṣīs tvaṁ kulasyāsya ghoraṁ saṁkṣayam ātmanaḥ | tatheti samanujñāya sā praviśyābravīt snuṣām ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Janganlah engkau menyaksikan dengan matamu sendiri kebinasaan yang mengerikan atas keturunan ini.” Setelah menyahut, “Demikianlah,” dia pun masuk ke dalam dan berbicara kepada menantunya—agar keluarganya terhindar daripada beban batin dan derita menyaksikan malapetaka yang kian mendekat.
