Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial

इत्युक्त: कौरवो राजा वासवेन महात्मना

ity uktaḥ kauravo rājā vāsavena mahātmanā |

Demikianlah, setelah ditegur oleh Vāsava (Indra), raja Kaurava—berjiwa besar dan berpegang pada dharma—menjadi amat gembira. Mengingati sabda tuan para dewa, baginda bertitah kepada Permaisuri Kuntī: “Wahai yang membawa berkat, hasil kelak daripada nazarmu akan menjadi penuh kebaikan dan tuah. Indra, penguasa para dewa, berkenan kepada kita dan hendak mengurniakan kepadamu, menurut tekadmu, seorang putera yang unggul—yang berbuat laku melampaui insan biasa: termasyhur, penunduk musuh, arif dalam siasah, berhati luhur, bersinar seperti matahari, sukar ditandingi, giat dalam perbuatan, dan menakjubkan dipandang.”
