पाण्डुरुवाच अप्रजस्य महाभागा न द्वारं परिचक्षते

Transliteration

pāṇḍur uvāca aprajasya mahābhāgā na dvāraṃ paricakṣate |

Translation

Pāṇḍu berkata: “Wahai para resi yang amat berbahagia, orang ramai mengatakan bahawa bagi seseorang yang tidak mempunyai zuriat, pintu (ke syurga dan alam-alam yang lebih tinggi) tidak akan terbuka. Aku juga tidak mempunyai anak; maka, ditimpa dukacita, aku mengajukan permohonan ini kepada kalian. Wahai para pemilik tapa, aku belum lagi terlepas daripada hutang yang terikat kepada para leluhur; sebab itu aku diseksa oleh kegelisahan.”
