ततः स मृगयामास वने तस्मिंस्तपोधन: । नाध्यगच्छच्च मृगयंस्तां गां मुनिरुदारधी:,तब तपोधन वसिष्ठजी उस वनमें गायकी खोज करने लगे; परंतु खोजनेपर भी वे उदारबुद्धि महर्षि उस गायको न पा सके
tataḥ sa mṛgayāmāsa vane tasmiṃs tapodhanaḥ | nādhyagacchac ca mṛgayan tāṃ gāṃ munir udāradhīḥ ||
Lalu pertapa yang kaya dengan tapa itu pun mula mencari di hutan tersebut. Namun, walau terus mencari, sang resi yang berakal mulia itu tidak juga menemui lembu itu.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic temperament of an ascetic: when faced with loss, he persists in rightful effort without slipping into agitation or wrongdoing, embodying steadiness, patience, and self-restraint.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that the ascetic sage searches through the forest for a particular cow, but despite continued effort he is unable to locate it.
