FAQs

It contrasts worldly rewards like Indrahood (vāsavatva) with the Shaiva aim of turning from such Pāśa-bound ambitions toward Pati, Lord Shiva, whose worship through the Liṅga leads beyond bondage.

Indirectly: it shows that positions of cosmic rulership are still within bondage (Pāśa), implying Shiva-tattva as transcendent Pati—beyond hierarchical power gained by service to finite rulers.

No specific rite is taught in this line; the takeaway for Pāśupata Yoga is vairāgya—renouncing the craving for status and redirecting discipline toward Shiva as the liberating Lord.
