Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana teaching to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It teaches that japa performed in Shiva-oriented sacred spaces—temples, tirthas, mountains, and holy ashramas—yields vastly amplified spiritual fruit, supporting Linga-puja by intensifying purification and devotion.
By implying that sacred places aligned with dharma magnify japa, the verse points to Śiva as Pati whose grace becomes more accessible when the paśu approaches Him through disciplined practice in sanctified environments, weakening pāśa (bondage).
Mantra-japa (often alongside Shiva-puja) is highlighted; the takeaway is to perform steady japa in tirthas and Shiva-temples to accelerate inner purification in a Pashupata-oriented sadhana.
