उमामहेश्वरव्रतं—पञ्चाक्षरमन्त्रस्य माहात्म्यं, न्यासः, जपविधिः, सदाचारः, विनियोगः
गृहे जपः समं विद्याद् गोष्ठे शतगुणं भवेत् नद्यां शतसहस्रं तु अनन्तः शिवसन्निधौ
gṛhe japaḥ samaṃ vidyād goṣṭhe śataguṇaṃ bhavet nadyāṃ śatasahasraṃ tu anantaḥ śivasannidhau
Ketahuilah bahawa japa yang dilakukan di rumah memberi pahala pada kadar biasa; di kandang lembu menjadi seratus kali ganda; di tebing sungai menjadi seratus ribu kali ganda; namun dalam hadirat Śiva yang dekat, ia menjadi tanpa batas.

It teaches that the fruit of japa increases with sanctity and, above all, becomes limitless in Śiva’s sannidhi—pointing to Liṅga-pūjā as a direct means to draw near to Pati and receive unbounded anugraha (grace).
Śiva-tattva is presented as the supreme, inexhaustible source of spiritual fruit: when the bound soul (paśu) approaches Pati, the results are not merely multiplied but become ananta—signifying Śiva’s boundless śakti and grace beyond ordinary karmic measure.
Mantra-japa is highlighted, along with the principle of sānnidhya (proximity): externally through sacred sites (home, goṣṭha, riverbank) and supremely through worship/meditation in Śiva’s presence—aligned with Pāśupata discipline of concentrating the mind on Pati.
