Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi

क्रमशः कन्यसेनैव मध्यमेनापि सुव्रतः उत्तमेनापि वै विद्वान् कुम्भकेन समभ्यसेत्

kramaśaḥ kanyasenaiva madhyamenāpi suvrataḥ uttamenāpi vai vidvān kumbhakena samabhyaset

Dengan memelihara vrata yang suci, orang bijaksana hendaklah berlatih kumbhaka (tahanan nafas) secara beransur-ansur—mula-mula pada kadar rendah, kemudian kadar pertengahan, dan seterusnya kadar tertinggi—melangkah setapak demi setapak dalam disiplin.
