mārkaṇḍeya uvāca sārvabhaumo mahātejāḥ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṃ varaḥ uttānapādo rājā vai pālayāmāsa medinīm
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: Raja Uttānapāda—penguasa agung, bercahaya dengan tejas yang dahsyat, dan yang terunggul antara para pemegang senjata—sesungguhnya melindungi serta memerintah bumi ini.
